Negative thoughts often lead to negative emotions and behaviors. The events and stresses of daily life can be exaggerated simply by the way you feel about yourself.  You may even fall into a destructive loop where stress leads to a negative emotion that leads to greater stress that leads to feeling even worse, and so on.  In that state of mind, something that would normally make you feel good is still interpreted in a negative light.

Knowing that negative emotions, thoughts, and self-image are getting in the way of feeling better is the first step.  But to really change your outlook requires relearning within the unconscious mind where your perceptions are interpreted as a sense of self.
